Project Scope & Objectives

This project features custom kitchen and living room cabinetry designed for a modern family home, with a focus on functionality, balance, and everyday connection. In the kitchen, storage was maximized while preserving open sight lines to maintain a sense of flow and spaciousness. A bar fridge was seamlessly integrated into the island to support convenience and entertaining, and the island itself was extended with a dining table attachment to increase seating capacity and encourage gathering. The pantry was carefully planned to be easily accessible and user-friendly, supporting efficient daily routines.

In the living room, symmetry was established to create visual balance and architectural clarity. Angled corners within the layout were addressed with cabinetry solutions that feel intentional and cohesive rather than forced. Altogether, the design supports a family-focused environment that promotes usability, comfort, and connection throughout the main living spaces.

Challenges & Considerations (Kitchen)

The kitchen was thoughtfully designed to be both highly efficient and visually warm, incorporating features that support everyday routines as well as effortless hosting. White painted cabinetry establishes a bright, clean foundation, while maple wood accents introduce warmth and natural character that soften the overall look. At the end of the island, a dedicated wood seating area creates an inviting gathering space, ideal for casual meals or conversations with family and friends. A bar fridge is seamlessly integrated into the island, keeping beverages within easy reach without compromising the kitchen’s sleek appearance, and pantry cabinetry positioned at the end of the main run ensures convenient access while preserving smooth circulation and flow. Black hardware provides a bold contrast against the white cabinetry and wood finishes, reinforcing a modern yet cozy aesthetic that feels both refined and approachable.

To harmonize with the architecture and visually anchor the space, painted cabinetry was introduced to provide concealed storage that blends seamlessly into the room’s overall aesthetic. A wood top, paired with matching floating shelves and a coordinating mantel shelf, adds warmth and creates a material connection across both zones. Cabinetry and shelving were thoughtfully aligned with the angled corner, transforming what could have been a visual challenge into a subtle, integrated design feature. Matte black hardware complements the kitchen fixtures and reinforces a sense of consistency across the shared living spaces.
